What you want to know to be prepared for your initial visit

Welcome to the Art of Acupuncture!

aofa logo.jpg

Please arrive a few minutes early to fill out paperwork if you haven't already done so by email. You begin your experience here at Art of Acupuncture as soon as you walk in. Relax on our comfortable couch and sip on our complementary tea of the day and do your best to relax and let go of the stress and tension of the day.  Being relaxed and receptive is the best way to get your best result from treatment.

You will meet either Kim or Brittany manning the central hub of the clinic and you should feel free to ask questions and check out the space.  Please respect the volume level and keep phones turned off and voices calm so that patients receiving treatment can maintain their own relaxed and peaceful experience.

What to Expect:

IMG_9025.jpg

Your initial visit will typically take up to two hours in which you will have a thorough examination using a variety of traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic exams, such as Tongue and Pulse diagnosis, and a detailed review of all body systems followed by tailored treatment determined by your practitioner.

The second visit will include a review of your results and experience and a specific level of care will be recommended based on the body's reaction to the first treatment.

There are typically three levels of care:
RELIEF CARE
Frequent visits to address specific and/or acute conditions. (1-2 times per week until resolved).

CORRECTIVE CARE
Long term treatment spaced accordingly for more difficult cases such as Fertility or Chronic Disease.

WELLNESS/MAINTENANCE CARE
For those who have achieved a desired level of wellness or are already in good health, but would like to receive a "tune-up" to prevent stagnation so you can remain relaxed and healthy. Visits are less frequent (1-2 times per month or season).
